My advice to young professionals, especially women, is to write your goals in pencil. I never would have imagined 20 years ago how my life would shape out - working mom to three kids with a husband, home, and bucolic set of spare time interests. It would have also been a surprise to me then that I would interview presidents or share heart-wrenching, life-changing moments with perfect strangers. Being a prepared, Westover woman of the world has always opened up opportunities that I could seize with confidence - then see where they took me!
I started working in media in 1998 as an intern at a radio station. Within six months, they made me a DJ, adding responsibilities like music director and promotions director before I was out of college. From there I moved into radio news, then television news, working in Hartford, Providence, and Boston. After 15 years in broadcasting, I took a more "normal" job as the spokesperson for New Hampshire's largest utility, putting my skills to work in the exciting and important field of energy. I have since taken a position as the Director of Communications & PR at one of the largest healthcare organizations in New Hampshire.
