The Theodore Presser Company has named Sonya Kim as its new CEO/President. Ms. Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organization, combining the skills and musical background of a concert pianist with modern business acumen.

Ms. Kim arrived in the United States at the age of 16, to further her studies in piano at the Juilliard School with Jacob Lateiner. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Music through the Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard Joint Program. She spent three years in New York working with the Human Capital Strategy Practice at Mercer Consulting (one of the world's largest human resources consulting firms) before moving to California for a brief foray into the world of software development. She returned to the East Coast one year later to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Since July 2004, Ms. Kim has played an integral role in restructuring and combining the operations of the Theodore Presser Company and Carl Fischer Music. This undertaking included a significant reconfiguration of the King of Prussia warehouse facilities and the concurrent development and installation of a comprehensive software package for both companies.

As a pianist, Ms. Kim has performed at the Salzburg Music Festival, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and the Bowdoin Music Festival.
