Martha Yancey, Esq./Blue Balloon Books
In Person
I am a licensed attorney. I have dedicated the majority of my career to representing indigent clients. Recently, I started a small publishing company.
I have been a licensed attorney in Georgia since 2003. I started my career at the Southern Center for Human Rights defending prisoners sentenced to death row. Additionally, I worked on prisoner's rights cases.
Thereafter, I worked at the public defender's office defending indigent clients against major felonies in Atlanta. I tried numerous jury trials and negotiated plea deals.
I later worked at a company that provided representation to disabled clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits and Medicare. I represented clients at disability hearings and later provided appellate representation to clients who lost their disability hearings.
A goal of mine had always been to write a children's book, so upon moving to California, I started Blue Balloon Books to publish children's books. I was granted a Trademark for Blue Balloon Books in 2013. Additionally, I am on the "volunteer attorney" roster for the California Innocence Project and provide assistance whenever necessary.
