Currently Legal Counsel for AXA ART. I wear many different hats at AXA ART and I love the diverse nature of my work. I credit Westover with many things, not least my love of Art History and the Law. I feel privileged to be working today in field combines both of those things in the Insurance world.

Current Experience:

Legal Counsel & Data Privacy Officer
▪ In charge of compliance with data privacy regulations, acts as the link to the AXA ART headquarter DPO, DPO of local AXA entity and the local data privacy authority.
▪Monitors local Data Privacy related regulations impacting AXA ART, informs HQ DPO if local data protection regulations have any impact on business processes or IT systems.
▪Adopting and implementing detailed data privacy requirements and guidelines to ensure a compliant handling of: personal data for marketing activities, how to process/manage sensitive personal data and providing guidance on the handling of data subject rights.
▪ Established AXA ART Cyber Security program and procedures in conjunction with the AXA ART CISO, including drafting, review and implementation of policies, and ensuring we are on target with all upcoming requirements under the NYS DFS regulations (ex: employee training and third-party risk management, annual updates etc).
▪ Responsible for reviewing and drafting documents for the Underwriting Department, including confidentiality agreements, producer agreements and consulting agreements. Assist in review, drafting and standardization of all insurance policies for the company, and required state filings relating to the project.
▪ Developed and implement a process to appoint brokers in the US and Canada.
Claims Counsel
▪ Responsible for handling subrogations for the Claims Department; supervises outside counsel when litigation is necessary for subrogation recovery.
▪ Responsible for reviewing and drafting various documents for the Claims Department, including but not limited to denial letters, reservation of rights letters, legal affidavits, title transfers, releases, subrogation waivers, loan agreements and consignment agreements. Assists with the recovery and sale of salvaged and recovered artworks for the Claims Department.
